The area of land for farming in the urban area of Cilacap Regency is getting narrower and has an impact on decreasing farming activities in the area. Currently, how to grow crops using hydroponics is a trend in urban communities, this can be seen from the emergence of hydroponic millennial farmer groups in urban areas. The hydroponic system is divided into two types, namely the NFT and DFT types, both of these methods have their respective advantages and disadvantages. This research aims to approach the appropriate technology based on a microcontroller. The method used in this research is the design of smart hydroponics of the NFT type. Planting time 1-35 days, seeding time on day 1-7 and dihydroponic planting time from day 7-35. The addition of nutrients is carried out every 7 days until the 40th day and is checked using the TDS sensor. The results show that the TDS sensor works well because it can read nutrients so that it can determine the optimal and constant nutrient addition, which is 700 ppm and has a harvest weight of 5.5 kg.
