Pengembangan Industri Cabe Jamu Madura

Cabe jamu is one of the phytopharmaca and herbal commodities found on the island of Java. Cabe jamu can grow in dry climates with low humidity, for example on Madura. Cabe jamu has an essential oil of 1% and piperine of approximately 2%. Piperine substances produce a spicy taste that has increasing stamina. While the essential oils as antibacterial. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the cabe jamu Madura industry. The method used is a descriptive study with a literature study approach. The results of this study indicate that among the four districts in Madura, Sumenep Regency is declared the largest producer of Cabe Jamu, wich is around 10.314,49 tons with a productivity of 4.762,85 kg/Ha. One of them is located in Bluto village, which is 687,83 tons. With the large production of cabe jamu, it is necessary to develop the cabe jamu industry to increase the value added and sustainability of Madura local wisdom.
