Gambaran Motivasi Dari Orang Tua Kepada Anak Untuk Melanjutkan Pendidikan Tinggi Sebagai Bentuk Kontribusi Pemberdayaan Potensi Daerah

Abstract

Children are the successors of technological progress and national progress, in this case the potential in each region in the region is something that needs to be empowered and improved. In general, there is no tertiary level in the Cipari area, so the highest level is in the Cipari area, especially Caruy Village, namely at the high school/vocational school level, and it is found that the level of continuation of study for high school/vocational school students is not yet significant. Based on this, an assessment was carried out regarding the description of parents' motivation for children to continue higher education as a form of contribution to regional potential empowerment. This study utilizes qualitative research methods through a descriptive approach. Analysis of research results in this report utilizes inductive analysis. The objects in this study are parents who have children who will continue their higher education in the Caruy Village area, Cipari District. The study was carried out using a lecture technique in the form of presentation of material describing higher education, followed by discussions with several parents. This activity was carried out for 1 day, namely October 2 2023, attended by 18 parents (local residents). It was concluded that motivation from parents is a basic thing that can support increasing the level of education of students. The picture is that the entire Cipari Village, especially Caruy Village, still needs a lot of potential students with at least a Diploma III/Baccalaureate degree. There is relevance between the number of residents and the number of residents who are continuing their education level, so it is considered that the residents in Caruy Village have the motivation to continue their education as a contribution to regional potential. The education sector is something that has been prioritized in Caruy Village, but it still needs attention so that it can be further improved to a higher level, namely Higher Education (PT). This can be a concern so that students who will continue their education towards higher education are given easier access if there are academies/PTs located around the Caruy Village area and/or Cipari District.
