Abstract

This research focuses on voltage lowering systems used for battery storage. This system needs to be researched because in order to provide power supply for batteries as a storage system that will be transmitted to consumers the use of electrical energy. The purpose of this study is to design a DC-DC buck converter PLTB voltage lowering system by utilizing the rotation of the AC motor and converting the electricity generated. To be able to maintain the output voltage of the buck converter by utilizing the SCR dimmer as a regulator of the motor rotation speed so that the motor rotation is stable then the generator will produce a stable voltage. The results of this study generate a voltage of 0 – 220 VDC or the generator generates a voltage of 26.9 VDC. The voltage that has been generated is lowered with the DC-DC buck converter by setting its PWM value at 49% and the electricity generated is 13 VDC. The output electricity from the buck converter can be used to charge the battery.
