Abstract

Solar energy is a type of environmentally friendly energy that is relatively easy in terms of installation. Because of this convenience, solar energy has become very popular among the people of Indonesia. With Indonesia's supportive geographical area, which has sunlight throughout the year, the use of solar energy is the most appropriate choice to increase the use of renewable energy. In terms of electricity conversion, solar panels are the main component of solar energy. It is in the solar panel that the energy of sunlight is converted into electricity. Unfortunately, the efficiency of solar panels is influenced by several factors, one of which is the surface temperature of the solar panels. When the surface temperature of a solar panel increases, its power output decreases. In this study, the surface temperature of the solar panel will be maintained at no more than 40°C in order to reduce power losses due to the heat of the panel surface. The panel surface temperature is measured by the DS18B20 temperature sensor and then sent to the NodeMCU ESP8622 so that it can be displayed via the bylink application on the smartphone. When the solar panel temperature is above 40°C, the cooling system will turn on automatically. From the 3 days of experimentation, it was found that the cooling system and temperature monitoring that were made were running well. The temperature sensor can read the panel surface temperature, the cooling system can work automatically, and the application can display the sensor readings. There is a difference in temperature readings between the tool and the temperature measuring instrument of 1.6°C
